Dancing Yoga / Kripalu DansKinetics® /
YogaRhythmics®
A
vibrant experience of rhythm, movement, breath and energy through the
body. Using music and rhythms from around the globe, we begin very
gently with breath & slow exploratory movement. As the music
continues, the breathing becomes more energized as well as our
movements. The seven energy centers of the body (chakras) establish the
structure of the sequence and the music provides the fuel. The
class is a continuing 'work in progress'
with different music, different movements, and different themes each
time. A smorgasbord of delight! Our 'yoga' is to watch the
process from the inside out and notice what's there. "Stuck" energy
gets freed up and relaxation at the end integrates and replenishes the
body.
Over
time dancing yoga becomes a practice for creating health and balance in
many aspects of everyday life.
Participants
have reported feelings of...
- clear-mindedness
- increased
flexibility & strength
- enhanced
intuition,
- the
ability to creatively respond to life,
- a
greater sense of freedom and ease,
- boundless
love and joy!
- greater
spiritual awareness
dancing
yoga is for every-body; no prior experience is necessary. Try It!
You'll Love It!

The Art of LovingKindness
Metta Meditation & Hatha Yoga
"You
can search throughout the entire universe for someone who is more
deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and that
person is not to be found anywhere. You, yourself, as much as anybody
in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection"
~ Gautama Buddha
Two
Eastern traditions come together to bring us closer in touch with our
true selves. Metta Meditation comes
from the Buddhist tradition and
connects us to our heart center to instill a sense of peace, harmony,
and love for all. Hatha Yoga opens the body to let this wonderful
loving energy flow through unobstructed.
This class is open to all and usually offered on
alternate Sunday mornings.
Call ahead if you're new.

MamaYoga
Through the practice
of hatha yoga expectant mom's (and dad's) will discover their
connection to the body's natural wisdom. Hatha yoga's
multi-layered approach to wellness not only prepares the body but also
helps in coping with the emotional fear and psychological stress of
childbirth. Inner resources are
expanded and strengthened to
enable pregnant mom's to face the challenges of labor with confidence,
calm & courage. The most important outcome is a healthy baby
and a healthy mom. If there is a need for medical intervention,
yoga will support meeting that decision with acceptance. Through the
practice of yoga pregnant women can:
- Create
optimal conditions of awareness & health
- Gather
focus, release tension and restore energy
- Relieve
anxiety, reduce fatigue
- Create
self-confidence and support courage
- Prepare
their bodies to give birth actively, instinctively & naturally
- Be
empowered to trust and follow their own instincts
- Lessen
dependency on pharmacological or surgical interventions
- Embody
the power, beauty & transformation of pregnancy, birth and
motherhood.

The Yoga of Sound
What happens when you
add the element of sound to a hatha yoga practice?
The ancient yogi's
understood the world to be made up of vibration or sound. Vibrations
exist outside the body and inside the body. Frequently our inner
vibratory rate is mis-matched with the external vibrations. This
creates imbalance, dis-harmony, chaos & and of course stress.
When we integrate the
aspect of sound into our yoga practice things begin to smooth out,
physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually.
This class is open to all and occasionally offered on
Sunday mornings. Come prepared to take a gentle hatha yoga class
and dress accordingly.
